We are Cape Town's proudly LGBTQIA+ inclusive community choir, singing everything from classical to contemporary.
Who we are
Music is how we stand together.
The Cape Town Village Choir unites and celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community through singing. We are a safe, empowering and joyous space where people from every background come together and make something none of us could make alone.
We stand for equality and diversity, and we take stereotypes apart one song at a time. Our repertoire moves from classical settings to contemporary pop, and our members range from trained singers to people who have never read a score.
Rehearsals are in Cape Town. Auditions are open. If you can hold a tune and you want to belong somewhere, you already qualify.

What your support funds.
Donations keep the choir singing. Everything given goes into one of four things.

Rehearsal spaces
A warm, accessible room in the city every week, booked and paid for in advance.

Conductor & musician fees
Fair pay for our conductor and the accompanists and musicians who rehearse and perform with us.

Music scores & materials
Licensed sheet music, arrangements and the folders and stands that hold it all.

Community outreach programmes
Performances and workshops taken to schools, shelters and community halls at no cost.
